Single Family Homes Single family homes are residences designed to accommodate one family. They are not attached to any other homes. Single family homes vary greatly in size and features. Some will have a garage, dishwasher, large yard or a family room, and some will not. An apartment is one example of a multiple unit home. A duplex is a multiple unit home that has two units in the same structure.
